[Open Discussion] When The Senbatsu Graduated? Will The Juniors be Able to Take The Burden?

So! Today, one of our followers, @Aoi_Angela-san suddenly brought a nice topic for an open discussion. The topic was : What do you think will happen to AKB when the (current) senbatsu graduated? Will the juniors be able to take the burden like the seniors?

And so, here are some of the people comments :

--
--
(Implying that the Undergirls for Sayokuro is filled with KKS members)
--
"They'll be able because they are already prepared for regeneration. But still, The AKB will be less stronger and the number of fans will decrease"
--
"The new generation will start from 0. Climbing another mountain with a different peak, more steep obviously"
--
"Obviously the juniors will take over, depends on their own will in the future."
--
"(They) can't. AKB's popularity will go downward"
--
"At any rate they must start from the beginning and feel the old gen's 'weight'"
--
--
"AKB48 will still be AKB48 no matter what happens"
--
'Why not? With their age getting older, the old gen will mature. Can't keep depending on the old gen"
--
"It'll be hard, they'll lost a lot of fans and must work hard to make the fans (of the old gen) move to them (the newer gen)"
--
"The Fresh gen will continue their seniors. Morover, there are kind of each seniors 'successors'. If they have the will, 48 will not die!"
--
"To those who said the juniors will start from zero, it's not that 'easy'. When the 1st gen start, they got nothing to lose. AKB48 hasn't made their name yet"
--
"They will do better than the seniors and will make the graduates proud"
--
"But if the juniors are able to pick up their roles from now, maybe their rating will not fall and won't need to start from the beginning"
--
 "Hard..."
--
 --
"It's like detaching a Train from its rail, impossible."
--
"I'm sure they will be able, they have to be, but the aura would be different. I, myself, still can't feel the aura of the seniors from the juniors"
--
 --
 --
 --
"Junior, senior, it's still AKB. Members graduate one by one, it's usual, it's the system that's picked up by the 48fam"
--
--
"With the current next gen and the management who's already a professional, it's not impossible for them to be success like their sisters"
 --
 --
"There would be controversies, and the Juniors won't be exactly able to handle it, because their experience in the Idol world is still not as much as their seniors."
--
And that was some of 48_Daisuki followers' comments on the topic. From me, myself, here's my take on the topic :
  • The 1st gen and the newer gen are in the different position right now. The old gen (especially 1st, 2nd, 3rd) had nothing to lose, they're making a name for themselves. On the other side, when the (current) senbatsu all graduated, the newer gen would take much more burden. Why? Because they are 'maintaining' the name of AKB48. If they fail, then AKB48 would crumbles.
  • It depends on the management too. Currently, AKB48 is on a downfall. Not mainly because of its members, but also because of the guys behind the scenes. Repetitive songs, or songs that doesn't have enough impact obviously made the sales goes down. The only thing that's holding AKB's sales until 1 Million copies sold every single right now is the handshake tickets. The management can't depend on the wota forever, and should improve their quality back.
  • So yeah, based on my observation above, only the members with strong determination and love for AKB will be able to bring AKB back to its peak. And in addition to that, the managements also have to work hard. Sure, AKB is a stepping stone for some members, but AKB got its own name now, and only if the members love the group so much, they'll have the determination to bring the group to the top.
That's it for today's open discussion. Have a good night, everyone~! #Sae
