Watanabe Miyuki's 5th Senbatsu Sousenkyo Appeal Video Translation

Good day, everybody. This is NMB48 Team N and AKB48 Team B’s Watanabe Miyuki. People call me Milky. This year, without any hesitancy, I submitted my candidacy for general election. I really appreaciate everyone from the bottom of my heart. Thank you very much. Last year, for the first time I ranked in general election, I got #19 position. After that, I’ve been holding concurrent position in AKB48 team B and being chosen as senbatsu member in AKB48’s singles. I was able to do many things. In handshake event, I could meet many people. I’m really happy about that. Everyone, I’m really grateful. With that, I want to convey my feeling of gratitude toward you. Let’s do air handshake date! Everyone, thank you for everything. From now on, I’ll do my best to be the #1 idol in Japan!! Please support me! Bye-bye…

Story of an AKB Fan Who Became SKE Fan

So the other day, one of our twitter admins was talking about AKB fan who became SKE fan after seeing what antis do to Jurina at Oogoe Diamond HS event. I found the translation from the original post on STAGE48. Thank you so much for sharing this and translating this story for us. Such a good inspiration.

Happy reading,
I think the people who came from Kiba-san’s Google+ should know me. But the number of people have grown so much that there are many that I haven’t met. So I’ll once again introduce myself. I’m Sassa. I live in Suginami, Tokyo. Don’t be alarmed. I’m in my 40’s and single.

The trigger for AKB was Onyanko Club in my high school days. It gives away my age, but it was the time of Donpisha (?). At the time, I’ve come across Akimoto sensei’s songs. I heard that Akimoto sensei is making a new idol group. I wanted to go to the theater because I really wanted to hear the songs. But being in sales, I gave up since I could not get any vacation at the end of the year. The following year, starting from January 2006, I started going to the theater. At the time you could easily get even same-day tickets. Audience was around 20 people. No one goes behind the pillars. Everyone is in the middle. Empty seats… I remember the sense of crisis. And I received flyers from volunteers. For what it’s worth, I even enjoyed at the theater the first time AKB had a full house. I felt that the grass-roots efforts were paying off. Then the 2nd generation auditions and formation of Team K. I saw their stage a few days after its shonichi, with only 40 people in the audience, and even felt that the new team was in trouble. But gradually more people went. 3rd generation. Team B stage. There were days in a row with full audience. Even going to the theater, I could only watch the monitors. But I was happy, knowing the days when there was almost no audience.

My AKB centered life changed at the Oogoe Diamond handshake event. At that time, the senbatsu members were split in 2 lines for handshakes. Thinking back on it, it was like a dream-like place to be able to handshake with half the senbatsu at once. This time, one of the double center selected was Matsui Jurina, the ace from the new group in Nagoya, and I wanted to meet her with the new atmosphere she would bring. I was excited for the event, but what I found there was hell. In the middle of the line was Jurina. There were fellow fans, that I think are antis, who pushed away Jurina’s outstretched hand, openly glared at her, and even yelled at her. If it was just one person, you can count it as an unpleasant fan, settle down your feelings and move on. But it was like an army, scolding Jurina in a loop. I watched Jurina holding back tears, blood drained marks on her hands from handshaking so hard because of frustration, but still smiling each time at the next person in line and holding her hands out for handshake. I decided “I must shield her from the antis” as his turn came.

“Seeing what’s happening today, I’ve decided to leave AKB and become Jurina’s shield. From now on, I’ll support SKE and Jurina.” Jurina started sobbing. She didn’t say anything and I wondered if I conveyed my thoughts properly. But I was happy that next in line was Mariko-sama who knew me (from when she worked in the cafe). She said to me, “Absolutely. Support Jurina. Because right now, Jurina must have support.” I’m sure the next one was Acchan. “It’s not Jurina’ s fault. Although it’s sad you’re leaving AKB, please take care of Jurina.” But because I was shocked by Jurina’s crying, I don’t remember what the other senbatsu members said. Then right after that, I heard the Jurina left the handshake event, so I went to Togasaki-san to apologize.

Since that day, I’ve been secretly supporting SKE and also Jurina. The handshake events now, recognition by members is important to people. There are even those who force the members to remember them. I don’t need this. It’s enough that Jurina can do her best for SKE. That has become my main concern. The competition for stage tickets have become ridiculous. So I’ve become an at-home and DMM wota. But I think my feelings/thoughts for 48-group do not lose to anyone. Please forgive me for that. lol

Sorry for being such a troublesome old fan.

Fukumoto Aina's Graduation Speech at Budoukan

Budoukan Concert, Day 2. After Encore Song #3, 'Boku wa Matteru', the members form up 2 lines, creating a path for Fukumoto Aina. Ainyan walks, and then said her graduation speech.

Fukumoto Aina's Graduation Speech :

“Before entering NMB, I thought of being a Variety Talent and entered the Entertainment Industry. After entering NMB and experienced a lot of things, I decided to graduate from NMB and become a strong Variety Talent. Graduating myself from NMB that’s riding on a wave right now is troubling me, but… *Stop and cries for a little* I want to become a variety talent that won’t lose to NMB. If NMB is aiming for the top, I’m aiming for the top as a Variety Talent too. I’ll absolutely be a Variety Talent on my own, with everything I got from NMB48. Soshite, Fukumoto Aina, Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu.”
Indonesian :
Soshite, Fukumoto Aina, Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu."

- Matsui Jurina’s Case -

Kanon: You know, I had a weird dream today.
Akane: What dream?
Kanon: Like…the watch’s hands were moving at an incredible speed, everyone surrounding me was freezed and only I could move.
Yuria: And then?
Kanon: And then…nobody would move even though I tried to call out to them so I started to feel sad, I let my watch fall and it broke.
Akane: Was that watch a wristwatch?

Kanon: No, it was a strange watch, more like a pocket one.
Akane: It’s good it wasn’t a wristwatch, isn’t it?? According to the oneiromancy, a wristwatch represents one’s lover so it might’ve been a bad omen!
Kanon: Lucky me then!! But you sure know a lot!
Akane: I really like things like oneiromancy, so I always write down the dreams I have.
Yuria: Are you for real??
Akane: Yeah.
Yuria: But I heard that if you write down your dreams or something, your mind would start getting weird!!
Akane: Wasn’t it about becoming able to see lucid dreams?
Kanon: Lucid dreams…?
Akane: It means that you can realize you’re dreaming and you can control your own dream!
Kanon: That’s amazing! If I were able to control my dreams, I…
Yuria: But aren’t dreams often filled with absurd things and circumstances? So why don’t we realize they’re dreams?
Akane: I’m often being chased after by someone in my dreams.
Kanon: And…don’t you sometimes happen to see very realistic dreams?
Yuria: I do! Just recently, I suddenly fell asleep while I was exchanging mails with my boyfriend. And then inside the dream I kept waiting for his mail all the time!
Kanon: Ohhh, nice story! And…did you get the mail?
*Yuria’s gestures make it clear it’s a no*
Akane: I don’t like mails.
Kanon: Why?

_

Waitress: Sorry for the wait. Here’s your moyashi ramen.
Jurina: Thank you.
_

Akane: I don’t get why one would send hundreds of mails a day!!
Yuria: Eh? I send like 300 per day…
Kanon: Ohh, that’s a lot. I don’t send that much but I guess I reach 100 mails a day.
Akane: Why do you have to communicate so much?
Kanon: Communicate, you say…
Yuria: It’s not like it’s about serious business or something, just things like “What are you doing?” or “That’s funny, isn’t it?” while watching TV.
Akane: That’s unbelievable. What’s the point in sending that kind of mail!? You won’t be able to focus on the TV and if you feel like talking, you should just see  the person and talk!
Yuria: No no no. You can use cute emoji! And isn’t it enjoyable to mail while thinking about the other person?? And what about the time when you get excited waiting for the reply??
Akane: I’ve never been touched nor I got excited by an emoticon! Moreover, I don’t think boys care about mails as much as girls do.
Kanon: True…there are a lot of boys that use to be cold when mailing.

_

Mail received by Jurina: We can’t see each other anymore.
_

Akane: Wouldn’t we be fine without mails?
Yuria: Impossible. I can’t live without mails.
Kanon: It would be actually hard without mails. Like…my current boyfriend confessed to me by mail.
Akane: How is a confession by mail acceptable!? It makes me want to say “Just say it directly!!” And…young people now depend on mails too much!!!!
Yuria: Young people…Aren’t you young as well?
Kanon: In the past not only they didn’t have mails, but not even phones!!
Yuria: Incredible, isn’t it?
Akane: How would it be without phones?
Kanon: Without a phone you can’t see the time nor take pics…You can’t do anything, can you?
Yuria: I’d be a lot uneasy.
Akane: But well, in a way or another we would’ve been able to live without phones, wouldn’t we?
Kanon: After all, not just phones, they didn’t even have watches in the past!!
Akane: One wouldn’t be able to get the time without a phone or a watch…How would people have appointments!?
Yuria: Wouldn’t they be led by the power of love?
Akane: The power of love?? I wonder if someone depending on phones, who sends 300 mails per day, could be led by the power of love…
Yuria: You’re a meanie!!

Kanon: Do you think time is equal for everyone?
Akane: I think it is. No matter if you’re a famous person, a genious, a day is always of 24 hours.
Yuria: I think it’s not equal. “Time travels at different speeds for different people”. William Shakespeare. A boring and painful time lasts long, while a fun and satisfactory time is short.
Akane: But that’s just about perception, ‘cause time physically flows in an equal way for everyone, doesn’t it? No matter if you’re in Tokyo, London or New York, one day counts 86.400 seconds!
Kanon: Well, if you think in terms of the time composing a hour or a day it might be that time’s actually equal, but everyone’s lifespan is different, isn’t it? If you think like that, well, maybe the time given to people is not equal!

Akane: “Human beings don’t know how valuable the present is. They act coquetry,  just somehow wishing for a better future, as they aimlessly snuggle up to the past.” Goethe. So…point is: Live the present with all your might, right?
Yuria: You closed it forcibly, didn’t you!?
Akane: Well, just a bit…But, it’s not an easy matter so let’s just leave it as it…
Yuria: Right…
Akane: The ramen spread! Let’s eat!

- Kitahara Rie’s Case -

Manatsu: We’re always here, aren’t we?
Anna: We’re always saying the same things, aren’t we?
Manatsu: We’re always here at the same time, aren’t we?
Anna: We always sit here and talk at 5, don’t we?
Manatsu: The scenery’s always the same, isn’t it?
Anna: We’re always doing the same thing over again, aren’t we?

Manatsu: By the way…what were we talking about?
Anna: Oh, I forgot!
Manatsu: Even though we always say the same things…
Anna: Yeah, we forget about them even though they’re always the same things…
Manatsu: But isn’t it awful to keep doing the same things…?
Anna: Doesn’t that awfullness changes into strength?
Manatsu: Well, some calls it pretending to be strong…
Anna: Time sure is mysterious.

_
- Matsui Rena’s Case -

Rena: I’m envious of the time surrounding me.  Even though my own time is the real one, past, present and future seem like they’re moving at high speed and then in slow motion, coming down on me. The watch of my heart is really pretending to be strong.

Rena's Letter for Jurina's 16th Birthday

Matsui Jurina 16th birthday theater celebration  2013/03/08

To Matsui J-chan

Congratulations on your 16th birthday.
Even though its embarrassing I’ll write down my true feelings here. I’m sure I’m speaking for everyone when I say the most important for us is for Jurina to be healthy. I’m relieved when I see you cheerful and being just a little bit overboard. I’m thinking「Ah, that’s our Jurina~」.
When we perform in the theater together, I’m always watching your back. The sweat dripping off your hair, the shirt sticking on your back, pushing yourself a bit too much, to your upper limits. But that makes you who you are, someone who always gives everything she has, physically and mentally.
It’s that same back which always lead us all forward.
On her journey, Jurina has been carrying more on her shoulders than most people will ever do and turning 16 your field of work will expand, so I’m sure you’ll be burdened with an ever greater load than before. Like I told you before when we talked together, it’s a precious experience you can only gain now. I know you must be experiencing tons of frustrating moments, but I won’t tell you to “give your best”. Because Jurina is already working too hard without being told, isn’t she?
May Jurina remain full of energy all this year.
Thank you for everything.
P.S : Don’t become too adult because you turn 16. Adulthood is long enough has it is in one’s life. For a year without failures nor parenthesis.

From Matsui R.
