This speech was done during AKB48 Concert in Yafuoka Dome day 2, after they finished showing VTR about Mariko. At this speech, Mariko also announced the new captain of team A, Yokoyama Yui.
"篠田は、登場するなり瞳を潤ませながら周りをゆっくり見回すと、この日集まった3万2000人からの麻里子コールを一身に浴びた。
As Shinoda appear on stage with her eyes wet, she glance around slowly. The dome which gathered 32000 people was flooded with Mariko call.
それに答えるように笑顔を見せて丁寧にお辞儀。
As if replying the call, she bow with a smile.
その後、時折涙でしゃくりあげながらもゆっくりと言葉を紡ぎだした。
After that, she slowly speak with a tearful tone once in a while.
自分で決めたことなのに、みんなと楽しい時間を過ごしていたら、まだこの場所にいたいと思っちゃいました。
Although I decide this on my own, the lovely time that I enjoy with everyone made me feels like I want to stay a bit longer.
私は私らしく卒業したいと思っています。
I think I want to graduate in my own style.
私は後に続く後輩たちにどういう形でバトンタッチするかが重要だと思っています。
I think the way I baton pass to my kouhai is very important.
私は篠田麻里子としてみんなの目標になれるようこれから頑張ります。
I, Shinoda Mariko will try my best to become everyone’s goal from now on.
AKB48はまだまだ上を目指せる最高のアイドルグループだと思っています。
