On August 8th, the 2nd day of Kyocera Dome Concert, AKB48 Group announced a new thing called AKB48 Group Draft. So what is it actually like? Today, August 9th, AKB has post the details on their blog. The Draft system is actually more or less like the yearly, individual group audition. The difference however, is each team's captains will be able to choose their own members for this draft.
Here are the details!
- As said above, each team captains' will be able to choose their own members for their own team.
- The candidates chosen will be listed as 'Draft Member', which is different than the 'Kenkyuusei'. They'll be able to participate in lessons and also theatre performances for the team that chose them.
- If 2 or more teams picked the same candidate, a lottery will be held to decide which team will the candidate ends up.
- Should the candidate rejects to be drafted into the team that pick her, she'll lose all of her rights to enter any team.
Flow of the Event :
- 12 August - 3 September -> Appliance Acceptance
7 September - 13 September -> The Staffs will contact the candidates who passed. - 14 September - 16 September -> The candidates will undergo interview by the staffs
- 21 September - 23 September -> If the candidates pass the interview, they will go through Dance and Vocal Audition.
- If the passed the Dance and Vocal audition, the candidates will then asked to make an introduction video which will be uploaded on the internet.
- The candidates will then be drafted on the AKB Draft event, November 10th
Qualification of the Applicants :
- No prior experiences required
- Girls between Age 11 - 18 and belong to no agency
- Must follow all the activities later, such as lessons, daily theatre performances. and such.
I'm kinda excited for this actually. It'll be fun to see fresh faces coming for this draft. I'm surprised AKS still have ideas like this lol.
